about

Staying out a little too late. This track is part of a release that is happening through www.patreon.com/dannywhitecotton/
“I feel like I need a cigar and scotch to listen to this song and I don’t even like cigars or scotch” That was my wife’s reaction to the song the first time she heard the studio version of Hungover Sunrise. I have to agree and the dripping piano and slide guitar make me feel, even at ten in the morning as I’m writing this, like I’ve had a few. And to clarify, I haven’t. That is the direction though the song needs and is a call back to every time you may have stayed out a little later than you should’ve. Matt Rosen was the all-round musician’s musician on this contributing not only the solid bass line (catch that lick at 3:23?!?) but also on slide guitar and the electric. Dylan Blanchard navigated the groove of the drums like dodging elbows at a NYC lounge at 3am. In other words, like a pro. Oh yeah... and he handled the dripping piano mentioned above and the essential vibe of the B3. I, like a slacker, played acoustic and sang some words to fill out the space between tasty interludes. If you haven’t already please think of contributing on Patreon to help the good times continue. If you have already pledged then I hope you know how awesome you are and we’re getting your name tattooed on our torsos as we speak. Not really but you get the idea about how much we value your continued support.
